A Message from Our Head of School
UEIS was founded with the hope of supporting parents worldwide who dedicate themselves to their children's education. As a parent of two children, just a year apart, I understand this dedication firsthand. Driven by my own unwavering commitment to education, I spent countless hours with other parents searching for the ideal learning environment, starting from kindergarten. We visited numerous schools, and I eventually realized that the "best" education doesn't exist; rather, the most suitable education is what truly matters for each child.
Before university, my children attended five different schools. This wasn't due to any performance issues, but rather my own pursuit of the perfect educational fit. Our journey encompassed domestic public schools, international programs, American schools, and even sending my children abroad to Canada and the United States. Looking back, I recognize the toll it took not only on myself but, more importantly, on my children. I am fortunate that they thrived despite these transitions, successfully graduating from the University of California, Irvine (UCI), and that we maintain a close and loving relationship. UEIS is born from these experiences. My goal is to provide parents currently navigating the complex world of education with a comprehensive and clear path to studying abroad.
UEIS is situated in the middle of the rice paddle, just 2.6 kilometers from the Pacific Ocean. While UEIS may be small, it is comprehensively equipped. We create an immersive, American-style boarding environment right here in Taiwan. Beyond this, we ensure our students build a strong foundation, progressing step-by-step, and developing essential language skills (ESL/TOEFL/IELTS/SAT/ACT) along the way. We maintain a robust core curriculum encompassing literature, mathematics, science, and social studies, complemented by diverse and flexible elective options. We encourage students to establish unique clubs based on their passions, design engaging cross-cultural activities, attend specialized on-campus lectures, and participate in customized international competitions. This all-encompassing approach, balancing breadth and depth, empowers our students to strive toward their goals and take confident strides forward.
A defining feature of UEIS is our small class size and 1:3 teacher-to-student ratio, emphasizing our commitment to individualized attention and customized learning plans. From the inside out, we equip students with the qualifications and skills they need to gain admission to top-tier international universities. Each semester, our Director of Academic Affairs (student academic and university planning), Director of Student Affairs (managing activities and clubs), and Homeroom Teacher (focusing on independent living skills and career paths) personally serve as student’s personal Guidance Counselors, providing students with expert advice. Our commitment to a refined, personalized educational experience at UEIS allows us to provide students and parents with clear milestones. They can see what they can achieve at each stage while exploring and selecting from the different possibilities that lie ahead.
Finally, and most importantly, we prioritize the physical and mental well-being of our students. UEIS contracts five-star hotel chefs to prepare delicious and nutritious meals. Our dormitories accommodate two students per room and feature private bathrooms. We schedule daily exercise to promote healthy habits. This structured and supportive environment fosters a positive and healthy lifestyle, benefiting our students in every way.
