Scrolling through social media, a post from the Chinese Taipei Equestrian Association caught my eye. Right on the cover was Johanna from UEIS (United Education International School), celebrating a hard-earned silver medal in the Preliminary division at the 2025 National Interscholastic Equestrian Championships. Seeing that photo brought genuine joy to my heart. People often wonder how a secondary school student can keep up with schoolwork while performing at such a high level in competitive sports. Truthfully, this is never a simple, one-sided effort. The highest credit goes to Johanna's daily discipline and dedication; without consistent hard work, standing on that podium would be impossible. Behind that dedication is the unwavering support and commitment of family, which makes a world of difference.
From the school's perspective, I often reflect on what an educational community can do for a young person like this. At UEIS, we place great value on giving students enough breathing room in their everyday schedule. When a student's day is packed tight from morning to night, very little energy remains to discover interests or develop personal talents beyond the classroom.
Through flexible academic planning and close student-teacher mentorship, our advisory and international faculty take time to understand each student's pace and personal needs. When schedules allow room to breathe, students can maintain a strong academic foundation while dedicating time and focus to what they genuinely care about, carrying their passions forward.
Education should never be about carving every child into the exact same mold; it is about offering a secure, trusting environment where young people can grow into their own strength. We are deeply grateful to the Chinese Taipei Equestrian Association for hosting such an inspiring competition and sharing this powerful moment. Congratulations to Johanna! This achievement is the result of shared dedication, and we look forward to watching you move steadily forward on the road ahead.
