When was the last time you paused to simply say, "Thank you"?
Today at UEIS, the campus was filled with more than just the aroma of a roast turkey; it was filled with the warmth of genuine connection. Our Thanksgiving celebration began with a powerful reminder from our CEO: "From our families, we learn to be loved, and in turn, learn how to love others." This sentiment perfectly captures our mission to foster not just academic excellence, but the personal growth and emotional wellness of every student in our care.
The highlight of the day was witnessing our students engage with the "Gratitude Tree." In a world that moves so fast, seeing our students take a quiet moment to write heartfelt notes to their parents, teachers, and peers was truly moving. This activity reflects the core of our supportive boarding environment—a place where students feel safe to express themselves and build lifelong bonds. It is in these moments that we see them developing into the responsible, engaged citizens of the world we envision.
But it wouldn't be an American-style Thanksgiving without some fun! The "Blindfolded Turkey" game brought roars of laughter and excitement to the hall. Beyond the fun, this activity encouraged students to practice essential leadership and collaboration skills, trusting their classmates to guide them toward a shared goal. It was holistic education in action—balancing social engagement with meaningful learning experiences.
As we gathered for the grand Thanksgiving feast prepared by our dedicated chefs, the room buzzed with conversation and joy. Toasts were made, stories were shared, and the spirit of the "UEIS Family" was palpable. We are confident that the lessons learned today—gratitude, empathy, and community—will serve our students well as they prepare for admission to top universities globally and beyond.
