Before visiting the courthouse, many of us only knew courtrooms from intense movie scenes. But when Teacher Anderw took our Grade 12 class to Yilan District Court, we got a real, up-close look at how the legal system truly works. We saw that court isn’t just about drama—it’s about order, professionalism, and teamwork among judges, prosecutors, clerks, and bailiffs. Meeting Yilan’s only public defender and learning about the citizen judge system made the experience even richer. Plus, trying on judicial robes gave us unforgettable memories. This visit changed how we see the law—from something distant and abstract to something real and meaningful.
